The UW–Madison Transdisciplinary Center (“Center”) for Research in Psychoactive Substances receives a modest amount of funding through the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy, as well as from donations to the UW Foundation Psychedelic Research and Education Fund. The Center has set aside annual funding to support research and scholarly activities broadly related to psychedelic and psychoactive substances.

The application form for support for educational activities related to psychedelics and psychoactive substances, including support of graduate and post-doctoral work in the liberal arts, will be posted in soon.
The Center is actively pursuing various competitive grants and will pursue appropriate future federal granting opportunities. Please contact the Center Director, Paul Hutson, with suggestions for research topics.
Donations to the UW Foundation Psychedelic Research and Education Fund can be directed towards specific activities of the Center, including supporting research and scholarship grants mentioned above. These directed activities can include but are not limited to:
- Graduate student or Post-doctoral fellow scholarly travel or salary support
- Outreach for training and harm-reduction in underserved areas of the state
- Clinical research in targeted populations (eg, PTSD, depression, anxiety, minority groups)
- Support for the annual UW–Madison Psychedelic Symposium
