On-Campus Clients

Working with the Station – On Campus Clients

Project involvement may include:

  • Limited pro-bono+ consulting
  • Fee-based* laboratory services
  • Consultant/Contractor for grant-based activities
  • “Core Laboratory” for grant-based programs

Workflow may include:

  • Client Inquiry – Contact us
  • Review of available drug substance information, if applicable
  • Preparation of a formal or informal project proposal
  • Agreement of project scope
  • Project commencement
  • Project completion

Internal financial transactions are handled through the School of Pharmacy Business Office. Grant activities are coordinated in conjunction with the School of Pharmacy Research Administration Office. * ICTR Members receive subsidized+ rates. + Pro-bono and subsidized costs are supported by UW Foundation Endowments including the Zeeh Pharmaceutical Experimentation Fund and the Oscar Rennebom Foundation Zeeh Pharmaceutical Experimentation Fund.


ICTR & Grant Supported Projects must provide the following information:

  • PI Name and Title
  • Affiliation
  • ERA Commons Name
  • Project Title
  • Project Funding Source
  • Intended Project Outcome

Off-Campus Clients

The typical workflow for project initiation involves:

  • Client Inquiry – Contact us
  • Execution of Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA)*, if applicable
  • Review of available drug substance information, if applicable
  • Preparation of a formal project proposal
  • Agreement of project scope

Projects can be conducted under several mechanisms including:

  • Client purchase order
  • Limited scope testing under existing CDA
  • Execution of Material Transfer Agreement*
  • Execution of Fee-For-Service Agreement*
  • Execution of Research Agreement*
  • Provision for multiple programs upon implementation of a Master Services Agreement*

Following definition of project scope and completion of applicable agreement, the project activities will commence. Project completion will typically conclude with a Technical Report provided to the client. Based on provisions in the project proposal and/or agreements, billing is handled through the School of Pharmacy Business Office.


* Also requires interfacing with UW-Madison Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Contracts division.
